This contract was to create the structure of a new roundabout on the A69 for future developments and a new access to Killfrost and the adjacent industrial estate.
The construction included the building of a Tensar reinforced wall.
The site was cleared of topsoil and a water penetrable layer of 6B material layed. On top of this, layers of 1A were spread and compacted. Crushed recycled track basalt was used for this.
This formed the main structure of the road.
The southern side of the road was formed with the Tensar wall.
The Tensar Wall was constructed with layers of Tensar geo-grid and varying layers of 6I stone.
The grid was looped though sheets of reinforcing mesh to form the 75° design slope.
