Owen Pugh undertakes demolition contract work throughout the North East of England for clients ranging from private individuals through commercial developers and construction companies to the largest metropolitan councils. The company provides a full service on small to medium sized contracts, including stripping, demolition, site waste management, recycling, plot remediation and reinstatement.
Typically, it is possible to recycle up to 95% of demolition waste and every effort is made during the demolition process to achieve the separation of materials required to ensure effective recycling. In particular, the company has extensive experience of removing hazardous material from site; for example fuel tanks from petrol station forecourts, oil tanks from industrial heating services and toxic powders from industrial premises. All notifiable asbestos removal is done by licenced sub-contractors.
All technical staff involved in demolition contracts carry the relevant CSCS Cards for Site Management and Site Supervision and have attended the CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme 5 day course. They are also trained First Aid appointed persons. All demolition operatives are also fully trained as either Demolition Top Man, Demolition Mattockman or Demolition Labourer as well as demolition safety awareness and asbestos safety awareness.
